Ten years ago I wanted to die, too. Actually I lived in that state of depression for over 20 years. But today I'd rather give a State of the Union speech in the buff than to die. Life is GOOD, bro.

I sing from time to time in front of an audience and its still scary even tho I have been doing it for years. I also speak in public sometimes. What helped me was when I used to teach teens and once I got into the topic I was fine. But when I first started doing it I was a nervous sweaty wreck.

Well, I guess it depends on what I'm speaking about. If it's a subject that I'm very knowledgeable about, I have no problems speaking about it. If I have to face a crowd to deliver some cryptic message someone has pushed upon me at the last minute, I can get a bit nervous.

I hate when I have to do it but I can when I have to. The most people I have spoken in front of was about 500 and I felt like pooing my pants all the way through. I also sweated a fair bit but everyone said my presentation was good. I would rather hammer a nail through my toe than do one but I wouldn't rather die.

I can speak in public, but I'd be pretty shaky and the room would have to be silent, because my voice isn't very loud, and it would be worse trying to talk with a quivery voice. I would have terrible jitters and stomach ache before hand though. also would need the words written down and read from it, I would probably build up confidence as I go on.
I would be like the professor, in Educating Rita, I would need to be pi**ed first.

rather die.
Last time it was in front of 100 people accepting an award - I hated every sec - was so nervous
Worst thing was I was running late and only had time for 1 glass on vino. If I had 20 I might have done better

I never used to be able to. After joining the Navy I've had to give so many presentations/speeches etc that I have no worries with it now at all.. Makes you wonder what was so difficult about it in the past!

I think dying is a bit dramatic.
Given the choice i would have to choose speaking in public. Even if i embarrassed myself i would get over it whereas its a bit more difficult to get over dying!!!
