To stand at service to remember those military service personnel who gave so much, life and limb and some the good health they enjoyed before the wars, displaying a chestfull of toy medals is an insult to all that served. He should bow his head in shame instead of rubbing noses in the dirt just because he has so much privilege and protection

He does not wear any war medals. He wears, in the form of medals, the following:

The Queen's Service Order (New Zealand)
Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Medal
Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Medal
Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal
Canadian Forces Decoration (for many years service as Colonel-in-Chief of Canadian regiments)
New Zealand 1990 Commemorative Medal

None of these are awarded for service in the military, except the Canadian Forces Decoration, which he has met and exceeded the qualifications for.

He actually earned those, serving in three branches of military service.Charles attended the same naval college his father attended. He also entered the Royal Air Force, eventually earning his wings and becoming a flight lieutenant. He completed Marine training as well, but much preferred the navy;Charles ended his career aboard the 360-ton minesweeper,HMS Bromington as its Commander. He served many tours of duty during his nearly 10 year-career.He didn't see battle duty because there were no wars.
My father, a veteran of World War II and the Korean War says that a tour of duty is still a tour of duty;a soldier,a sailor,a marine,no matter what branch must train, perform services, travel to where they are told to go.
Try reading Ralph G. Martin's Charles and Diana for the complete military service history.

He didn't see any active service i.e. in a War but he did serve in the Navy for a number of years and undoubtedly earnt a few or his medals then and he ddi work his way up. You don't just get medals from serving in a war zone, you get extra.

Maybe Charles did train with each branch of the armed services but he still did nothing to deserve his medals.
I know for a fact that men that served for their country during the last world war that earned medals were never given them. When questioned they were told that they had to apply for them. I know one man that applied & was told they had no knowledge of his ever being in the army. This was after serving in Italy, Africa & France from 1942 to 1947.

He didn't see active service but he has done training with all three branches of the Armed services and did the training. Plus the fact he will be Commander-in-chief of the Armed forces when he becomes King.

I totally agree. The honours system in the UK is a complete farce.

Prince Charles is just the tip of the iceberg. The entire honours system is geared to reward the greedy and sycophantic.
