I'm upgrading my MB and CPU and didn't realize until after I purchased them (for quite a penny), that I didn't remember reading anything about them being compatible with Windows XP Home Edition SP2. I upgraded from P4 3.0 ghz to a Core 2 Quad 2.40 ghz and from a Intel 945G Media Series to a XFX Nvidia 680i SLI. I'm really weary of buying Windows Vista yet due to the immense number driver issues cropping up, and would perfer to wait until after the first Service Pack is realeased. So can anyone please answer me...Is Windows XP Home SP2 compatible with Quad-Core CPUs? I can't seem to find the answer anywhere!
Any help is appreciated and if possible please leave a link to the information you found so I can read it over also.
Thanks for any help,
Ryanaven

Yes it is absolutely compatible with XP Home, no worries there at all. As for Vista, unlike the overwhelmingly vast majority of people who give opinions on it, I actually use it. As for driver problems, yes there are some, it really depends on how makes the various peripherals that you plan to use. Service Pack 1 is not the answer, remember Microsoft doesn't make drivers, that is up to the individual hardware manufacturers to make drivers for their products. I would suggest going to the sites of your printer, scanner, etc and seeing if they have Vista drivers available, then decide if you want to upgrade.
