The earth is an orb. It's round and spherical. But as the tides and gravitational pull happens, the poles can become elongated or squished ever so slightly.

The earth isnt really a true spher but more like a slightly squeezed ball where the pressure is coming from the poles.

To give you an idea think of a football spinning really fast horizontally.

It's actually more of an oval because the glaciers overtime are on the poles and it's all water on the equator, so the glaciers squeeze the earth into an oval
