I might be going on a long road trip very soon, and I would like to know ahead of time where the bridges are. Ever since I was a kid, I've been afraid of bridges, even small ones that don't have any water underneath them. I just hate how they look. they terrify me. I know Washington State has a lot of them, and Portland Oregon does also, but other than that, I don't know. I would appreciate any help..

Depends where you are going. Through New Mexico, & Arizona there are few bodies of water so you should not have many bridges. Avoid southern states like Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida, since they are full of bridges. In the northeast Massachussetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island have many bridges. Maryland is the worst that I have seen because of the Chesepeake Bay. Rule of thumb is if there are bodies of water, or valleys there will be bridges. Also there are many tunnels in places like Vermont, New Hampshire, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, California, Nevada, and Montana. Maybe you are better off flying if you have to travel more than 500 miles.

I 10 through Lousiana. They have a stretch of 17 miles = speed limit 55, with helicopter landing pads every three miles.

Although . . . . Frisco bay area has bridges all over the place.
