I am from Malaysia. My answer is through my knowledge and experience. I did not do any reference.

In Malaysia anything to do with Employment is the Labour Department. Labour Offices are in all Districts all over the Country. The Labour office will help out anything to any Victimize worker in Legal, Provident Fund, Medical, Walfare, Compensation, etc, etc.

Your question is 'If'. That's means you are not working yet. In your 'statement' you have had being working for more than a month. Anyway all countries care for her citizen. I am not sure where you are from. It maybe the same to your country and everywhere in the world. If you are being victimize, report immediately the case to the Labour Office or Labour Department if it's happen. Your Labour Office or Labour Department will act for and on your behalf to deal with the Firm.

Thank you.

Wow, you poor thing! Go talk to the Citizens' Advice Bureau right away, and also threaten your employer that you'll take him/her to court (the Small Claims Court covers this kind of thing). I would also have a trawl through different Trades Unions and there might be an employment ombudsman out there who can help you. In fact, I would even have a chat with the police to see if they have any further advice or help they can offer. Frequently a bad employer can be made to cough up just by knowing that you have taken official steps. Good luck!

In most states in the USA an employer who does not pay an employee is liable for treble damages under the Labor Code. You should file a complaint with the labor commission in your state.

This is a big deal. Contact the department of labor in your state. You might want to give them a chance to pay after you tell them that you are about to take this action.
