I think it is:
2,1,-1,-2,-3,-5,-8,......
because,
2,1,(1-2)=2,1,-1
2,1,-1,(-1-1)=2,1,-1,-2
so on

The series moves in the following manner….

1.the series has to be divided into pairs of 2
2. the movement….
2,1 = 2-1 = 1 ------ the difference is 1
-1, -2 = -1 – 1 = -2------ the difference is 1
thus 9-1 =8 and so on…



Also, the linking pattern between the groups,
The 1st number of the 2nd group is the negative of the 2nd number of the 1st group…….except for diff betwn –2 and 9


So now, the series will follow as……. (FINAL ANS..)
8, -8, -9, 9, 8, -8, -9, 9…………….

Hey! U see that grouped into 4 the sub series repeats itself

well it seems to go as follow
1st two numbers:1*2=2
then next two numbers {-1*-2=2}
so i think.......{9*a=2}
so i think the missing no. is a
