I do not know where you get your statistics that the "leading cause of death in pregnant women is murder". Though I did hear on Fox News, that most women who are pregnant are murdered by their partner, or any one that did impregnate the woman. That is why they usually look at the husband, boyfriend, or anyone that she was known to intimate with. Such as Lacy Peterson, and the Women who was just found murdered by her ex partner who by the way is a policeman. He is indited on 2 counts of murder one for her, and the 2nd one for the baby, who was due July 3rd.

That said to answer your question: What kind of world are we living in? What happened to the days where we all looked out for alll the children? I will try my best to answer it, plus.

Years ago I am 66 years of age so I am going back to the good old days. The average person were not as affluent as they are today. They worked hard to make a living, were devoted to their families, and extended families. Grandparents lived with their married children, cousins were like sisters and brothers. They all lived in the same neighborhood. Even neighbors were concerned about their next door neighbors. Every ones families, extended families, neighbors were all involved with each other and were all close knit and had a sense of responsiblilty towards one another.

It did not extend only to children, but to the adults, and the aged too as I described above. When I was 12 years old, after I helped my mother, she sent me over to help my aunt who had 6 young children. I would shop for her, or fold the laundry, take the kids to the park. What ever my aunt needed at the time. Not only that, but my Aunt had her mother living with her, who was 80 years old at the time.

Now families, move to other states, cities, and even other countries. This causes them to distance themselves from bing concerned or get emotionally involved, with their families.. Most, not all think of how they can climb the social ladder, they are more materialistic, and tend to think of ME, MYSELF, and I.

Truth to tell I beleive that those people that live on a limited income, are much happier people. They know their priorities. Which are children, and family. They are too busy being providers to get bored, and look for outside pleasures. Their pleasure are more like the "good old days".

I am 30 now and I don't remember a time when we as civilized people looked out for each other or each others children. If you do, then you were blessed with a good childhood. The values of the past, that our grandfathers had are gone. Society is a place where people care more about themselves than anything else. We live in a material world that is going to fast for parents to instill honest values and morals in their children. I believe society as a whole is deteriorating because of the family unit breaking down. If we can't survive as a family how can we survive as a country? We are falling apart . We have lost our way! Can we ever find our way again?

Gone are the days I am used to also.

Work tears families apart. My parents split when I was 5, and both worked overtime just to ease the hardships of things like plenty of food to eat and a home in a decent neighborhood.

Now that isn't even enough to get by, more crowding in each household to make for cheaper housing makes less breathing room for living. Working constantly and not enough home time makes less nurtured kids that grow without the ideals of previous generations.

I think the next cycle of descendents be called de-generations sometimes.

So our elderly and pregnant ones are hit hard by this close-quarters living. And they get on the nerves of the losers that don't have jobs because they sell drugs or fake disabilities to stay home.

What kind of World are we Living in?

- One made of mostly water that spins....

The leading cause of death in pregnant women is murder.

- Like all news statistics it is a misnomer... Most pregnant women are 15 - 35, so they are not likely to die of much else eh? I mean pregnant girls don't usually have cancer and if a girl did, she normally wouldn't choose to get preganant...

That being said, if 100 preganant girls are in a study and 1 dies and the rest carry to term, then whatever the dead chick died of is the "leading cause of blah blah blah"

One other thing to think about.... I doubt that is an exhaustive study covering all the girls in the whole world.

The world we live in is full of cruelty. Where even when we feel we are doing good it always affects somone in a bad way. When people use their beliefs to backup their predjudices and fears. Though we talk of peace and harmony but destroy eachothers countrys and civilization. Where we elect leaders that choose to destroy instead of repair. When we alow others to harm eachother while in the meanwhile we tear down. Yes this is the world we live in.

One or two incidents may happen ,but it does mean that the entire world has gone wrong.
All men love their wife ,especially when his wife is pregnant ,he takes more care of her.
Even ,men know the difficulties, that women face in her entire lifetime.
And ,why would a good family ,not take care of a pregnant women ?
They will take care of her ,especially the female members.
And most of the problems faced by woman ,comes from woman itself.

I think our society is to obsessed by luxury, and no longer in touch with nature. Why is it so popular to live in city's for example? The way I see it, our world is at war. You heard me. It's a world war going on, and the media is smoothing it out to look as innocent as possible.. Slowly and gently putting everybody's brain cells to sleep... Maybe it's just me who is mad, but I think his area will go down in the history books as the "BIG SLEEP"
