AENEID= the story of Aeneus (pronounced like "Uh-NEE-us"), a man from Troy who travels to Italy, and becomes "the father of the Romans." It was written by the poet Virgil (lived 70-19 BC), a first century Roman citizen, who spent the majority of his life from age 31 on writing poetry to entertain the ruling class of wealthy Romans.
