haha i pity americans, all the parents seem to be so strict.
As far as the sleepover thing, either live with it, sneak out and say youre going somewhere else or get your mum to meet the dad

That's so like my parents. I'm 15 and still don't get that much of my freedom, lol. I only get a chance to go to my friend's house if i tell them that it's a prject we're working on or so.. which is true. But i obviously know i can't ask for a sleepover. I guess they're just so overprotective. It's a good thing though because some parents aren't like yours. It's not that they don't trust you, but that you're still young and they need to "take care of you" and make sure nothing happens. Just listen to them because you are lucky they care so much for you. If they didn't worry/care so much, they'd say yes immediately without even knowing where you're going or when you're coming back (a little exaggerated.. but you know what i mean). In the future, you will be thankful that you have your parents! Don't take them for granted and listen to them. If you really REALLY want to go to the sleepover, why not tell your mom to drop you off and stay there for like a few minutes to meet your friend's family so that she knows that you'll be ok. Good luck!

Just respect you mom's wishes. She just loves ya. Maybe she had a bad experience. Don't be hard on your mom who knows where she is coming form. It sounds like she is just trying to protect you. This day and age is a lot different from when I grew up. There is a lot of weird stuff that happens now a days.
Don't forget to TALK to your mom nicely about issues. Ask her if there is anything that could ease her mind that you could help her do.
If she is not cool with it at all- don't persist. She is your only mom and if something happens to you she would be crushed. If you don't sleep over it is not the end of the world.
Hope this helps.:)

Living in a good neighboorhood in california means nothing in the sense of what kind of person your friends father is (not saying he is a good parent just making the point).
Maybe you all can get together a few times and get to know eachother. You, your friend, her father and your parents. Go out to dinner or lunch one day, maybe invite them over to a barbaque. All just to get to know everyone.
This is only showing how much she loves you and how much she is trying to look out for you. There are alot of bad people out there, but there are even more good ones.
In the mean time maybe they will allow your friend to spend a few nights over at your house.

I have 2 older girls 14,12 I don't allow my girls to spend the night at their friends house unless I know them. And more then 1/2 of their friend's parents are the same way. I would have your parent meet your friends dad. But make it so they meet more then just once, so your parent can feel comfortable. Then afterwards ask, if you can send the night. If your friends dad doesn't mind , have your friend spend the night at your house. And thats another way of them all meeting too! ! ! !

Why you don't have your friend over to your house instead? I mean, isn't the main point to be able to spend the night together? Does it really matter where you are? Invite her over instead.
Also, you could ask your mom if you could invite your friend and her dad over for dinner sometime. Maybe if she got to know him a little bit, she would be more comfortable with the idea.
Either way, you really need to respect your parent's wishes. Sometimes they know things that you don't know yet because they understand things that you don't yet at your age. I know it sounds corny, but they are just looking out for your best interest.
Don't fight it, just work with it and probably eventually it will all work out.

Your mother knows a lot more about life than you do. Just listen to her and don't give her a hard time. You can spend time with your friend during the day.

I can certainly appreciate the position of your parents. Your best plan should be to hook her dad up with your parents. After meeting the dad, things should be alright, unless there is a problem.
Good luck.

How long have you 2 been friends? Your Mom is doing her job. If your Mother is not comfortable with him then you need to listen to her.. I admire her for that.. We have too many jellyback parents letting thier kids do any and everything they want.
