3 months ago my gf and I got close to having sex, but didn't quite go all the way. Recently she took a pregnancy test and the first one said she was pregnant. Then even more recent she took two other tests within the same day and they both came out negative. We're both confused because she was having all the signs of being pregnant, swelling breasts, increase of appetite, light-headedness, growing stomach, headaches, morning sickness etc. She also hasn't had her period since February (conception would have been in the middle part of March). So, we're both wondering if she could still be pregnant and the tests could be wrong. Does anyone out there have any ideas? Please write back soon, GBU all and thanx to whoever gives an answer.

There are three possible answers here:

1. She was pregnant, but has since miscarried. Since she hasn't had another period, I would assume that this is not the correct answer.

2. The first pregnancy test was faulty, and she is not pregnant.

3. The other two pregnancy tests were faulty and she is pregnant.

In any case, I recommend she go to her ob-gyn doctor and get examined. They can do a simple urine test, as well as a blood test to determine if she is pregnant. If she is pregnant, she needs pre-natal care, especially since she would now be in her second trimester (the baby would be about sixteen weeks old...see the website below for pictures).

If she had one test that came up positive, she REALLY needs to see a gynocologist. There is a hormone that is realeased in a womans body only when she is pregnant that the test picks up on. If it showed positive then she has that hormone and is most likely pregnant. Explinations of the others comming up negative could be human error, faulty tests or a possible miscarriage. In any case she should see a doctor, because if she is pregnant she needs to start her prenatal care and have tests done to make sure there are no complications with her pregnancy. You need to urge her to see a doctor. There are free clinics in most cities if money is an issue and most will see a girl if she is underage and pregnant without a parent present if age or privacy is an issue.
Good luck to you both.

It is possible but not likely. If she had the negative tests first and then the positive it would be more likely because hormone levels increase are more detectable as a pregnancy progresses. The bigger problem is 2 people thought someone was pregnant for THREE months and didn't seek any medical care? ???? Your girlfriend still needs to go see a doctor asap. If she is too scared to see her family doctor there are clinics and pregnancy centers that can do tests and exams.

Sounds to me she could be pregnant but to be on the safe side have her go to the doctor and get a blood test when I was pregnant with twins the pregnancy test showed I wasn't pregnant so after 2 months of not having my monthly I was like this is very odd and went to the doctor and got a blood test and sure enough I was pregnant with twins , pregnancy test to my opinion aren't always accurate as they say so get her to get a blood test ,

It's rare to have a false positive on a home pregnancy test. Try to find somewhere to get her a blood test to be sure. You sound like a stand up guy. I hope you'll see her through and do good by her. God bless.

Uhhhhhh, I think I would go to the doctor and find out for sure. If you can't go to a regular doctor, go to somewhere like planned parenthood or something. They have clinics for that very purpose.

That is really the only way to know for sure -- unless you just want to wait until it has been 9 months and see if anything comes out!!!

Really, get to the doctor. If she is pregnant, she needs to be seen.
