I'm a smoker... I think there is a time and a place to smoke and a bar is a time and a place to smoke. I use to feel pretty angry about them taking it of resterants but really I understand the point. Smoking where children are is wrong, so I have chilled out. It's not fair to the kids to have to breath my 2nd hand smoke. But games are on when it comes to a bar, no kids there and people drink and drinking comes with smoking... It's very disrespectful to blow smoke in anyones face, I don't do that. I don't like smoke blown in my face and I smoke... On one hand it does take our freedom and all that jazz but on the other hand I understand...

Smoking is banned in Georgia in all restaurants and it is really nice but since it is banned all of the restaurants have areas outside that are covered for people to sit and smoke so it's not really that big of a deal. It was for about a month after it happened but, then everyone got used to it and they were ok with it. I prefer it this way. When I travel to a state that still has smoking in restaurants I can hardly breathe anymore and think that at one point in my life I couldn't even smell cigarette smoke I inhaled it so much.

Inhale cancer in public. Nada! Breathers should have their rights before the smokers. Besides they are killing us. I have horrible asthma also. I like to breathe. I think smokers should be banned from public unless they smoke with their car windows closed and enjoy the $8.00 a carton they pay. Or they can go to Uranus
and smoke all they want there where the air is already polluted with toxic gases.

It's been banned here in Ontario for years. Now they're talking about banning it in your cars and apartments. It's also banned within 8 feet of an entrance to a public building. No one complained too much.

I smoke and I'm O.K. with not being able to smoke in restaurants and malls. I live in Ga so we can smoke in bars. If they say I can't smoke in a bar then I'll just quit going to bars and so will all the other smoker I know. Most people in bars do smoke so I know a lot of bars will go out of business. I saw it happen to one bar because they were in another county. If they tell me I can't smoke in MY car or MY house then they will have to cart me off to jail everyday, cause thats crossing the line. I think bar owners should have a say in this because bar + drinking = smoking

Yes, it IS right to ban smoking in public places. We have rights, too.

I think it's right. I'm not asthmatic, but my dad smokes, and I hate it! Once he took me to a restaraunt where nearly EVERYONE there smoked, and he kept me there TWO HOURS and I went home with the most awful headache! So he doesnt smoke around me. And what about infants and small children? Being exposed to smoke could cause lung problems later in life, which isn't fair, since the child couldn't help it.

In Queensland Australia its illegal to smoke were any food or drinks are consumed. I love it, theres nothing worse than having your eyes sting & for clothes stink from a smoked filled room! And I dont believe it's cutting down on individual freedom because there the ones that choose to smoke so they can live with the consequences!

Individuals dont have the right to affect me with their poisonous second hand smoke. Therefore I am really excited about the new smoking ban in pubs and clubs. I get so sick if I try to go out; I come home with a headache, flaming sinuses and have to even wash my hair, before going to bed. I cant wait to be able to go out whenever I feel like it. Poor smokers can just keep their nasty habits at home, and poison their partners and children instead.
