san francisco and the neighbouring area (the bay area)
i say that because it is ethnically very diverse. some of the best universities in the country Berkeley,Stanford are located here.
it's the technological capital of america.silicon valley's right here.
people here are very open minded compared to the rest of the country.
it's not very far from Los Angeles. The best wines in America are produced here .
my other choice would be new york.

I think New York and Washington DC...NY because it has been the largest recipient of varied cultures for the longest time. DC because it is the capital of the States and since our government resides there, it accommodates the governments of so many other nations.

Montreal in Quebec is pretty cultural. And I'm not just saying that because I live there :p I see it everyday when I go out, either to school or to meet friends.
