Other ideas: Big hair, fluorescent accents, big belt worn on the outside of a big shirt, half off the shoulder with your tank top visible. Big tacky jewelry. Bright colored make up. Side ponytail. Think Cyndi Lauper, Boy George, Prince, Pat Benetar, Whitney Houston.

omgosh my youth group had an 80's night and it was so much fun!
i wore: an oversized bright sweater that hangs off of one shoulder, a colorful belt over the shirt, a bright mini skirt, fish net stockings, and two pairs of bright socks over like one high and the next pair folded down.
hair: since my hair wouldn't crimp (like i was planning) i just did a high ponytail with a scarf. For crimping you could just sleep in small braids.
Makeup: bright bright eye shadow. red lipstick
the 80's were all about bright colors

Yes! Go as the death of disco. Dress up in normal disco attire and wear some sort of skelton mask....I thought it was funny anyway.
