I am graduating in 2008 and looking to go into either engineering or finance. I'm kind of lost on the college search however. There seem to be a ton of options and i would like to narrow it down.

Any advice or information from alums or just knowledgeable people would be appreciated. I'm looking to stay away from a rural-oriented campus, and I would prefer a large student body.

I have a 3.86/4.00 unweighted GPA, class rank approximately 25/460 (around top 5%). SAT: 2180 total (640 CR, 750 M, 790 W) and SAT IIs: Math Lvl. 1: 770, Math Lvl 2: 800, Physics: 790.

Additionally, I am looking to find out which colleges have an EMS unit I could join with on campus or in a nearby town. I currently volunteering in one in my home town.

Thanks for any advice or assistance you can provide.

Try applying for: NYU, Cornell, UPenn, UMich at Ann Arbor, UNC at Chapel Hill, Carnegie Mellon, and BYU (in Utah)

I think you will have a chance at those schools.

Congratulations on a strong record; I imagine that a lot of schools would be interested in you. You have developed some good criteria so far, and it leads me to believe that you would be happiest in some of the larger state universities, especially those in urban areas. Most will have both engineering and business schools; you do want to make sure that their business school is not only for graduate students. I'm not sure which parts of the country interest you, but some possibilities might be Michigan State, U. of Texas - Austin, or Arizona State.

A lot of schools do have EMS units on campus - I know we do, but my school would be smaller than you would want.

It may be frustrating to you not to know where to go, but your situation, in which there may be too many options, is far preferable to one in which you have too few!

in case you will get that SAT as much as 2000+, you may desire to have extra possibilities. u pitt, bc (attain), tufts (attain), northeastern, and emory (attain) are others to seem at. i think of you have picked wisely for this reason far, yet i additionally think of you may desire to placed some extra reaches in there (assuming you do advance the SAT. for the faculties i categorized attain, you may desire to attempt for 2100+) on the grounds which you will have a shot at them.
