Ok first choice is the obvious Wal-mart. I'd probably be one of those buggy boys.

2nd choice is Walgreens. Obviously stocker/cashier

3rd Dollar General same as above

4th Chevron or other gas stations

Which would you pick, because they're aren't many options around where I live.

michealsan, thanks for that comment. I'm enrolling in college in the fall and will be studying computer programming and pc/electronic repair. I'm just working at one of these crappy places because I need what the world revolves around...a little green piece of paper.

I'd personally wouldn't go for WM.

It's where I first started working when I turned 18 or so.
(and sadly I'm still working there after 5 years..

++++yeah, I've moved up in the company. I do enjoy what I do((somewhat)) but I don't like the way it's being run these days they've made many changes lately...some are okay...other are just dumb++. )

WM doesn't care much about there employees. They care about the dollar. Trust me...I KNOW!!!!

Try Walgreens.

STAY AWAY FROM WM.

Defenitely pick Walgreens. While your salary won't be great, it will be better than your other choices. And, if you are a good worker, you can work full-time in the Summer and on school breaks and part-time during the school year. If full-time, you will get benefits and there is an opportunity for advancement. If you stay, you could later apply for a position in their pharmacy as a pharmacy technician which is fairly easy to become and pays considerably better.

I would go with Walgreens. Walmart is a horrible company to work for when you look into it. Dollar General is okay but not a lot of people shop there so you would be bored. Gas stations can be too crazy at times.

Of the options you give, Wal-Mart, for you can move up and travel with them. Most important though is to pursue work that you would like to do, rather than just settle for what is obviously available. Make what you love your occupation and you will be happier for it.

Pick the place that pays the best. They all suck equally and this is a temporary thing. I would avoid wal-mart as I have heard their pay is particularly bad. Appy at all of the places, and see which one offers the best pay. It is all about the green anyway, right?
