Some Lizard is stealing my freaking GAS out of my car at night> i AM SO tired of this, does anyone know what I can do about it? I mean I know I can stay up all night and watch - but I want to do something - like as soon as he opens the gas tank lid- something falls on his stupid head- or it shocks him - can anyone give me any ideas - I want this to stop. thanks

You could set up a camcorder in the bushes and catch them that way but then again they may be watching you and might steal your gas and camcorder. So just get a locking gas cap and be done with it.

The easiest way to deter a gas thief is to install a locking gas cap, most auto parts stores sell these.
Make your car less inviting to the thief by parking it in a brightly lit area. If a thief is set on getting your gas...nothing short of a bolt of lightning from god is going to stop(him or her). You can put your car under video surveillance, this will give the police some information to catch and prosecute the thief. I've heard of some additives you add to the fuel to help locate fuel leaks, these additives have a dye in them and changes the color of the gas to red or green. Once the thief gets this on his skin it's there for awhile. Start looking for the Slug with the red lips,tongue,and fingers! You'd be surprised how close he might live to you! Back in the 70's when we had those gas shortages, my grandfather's Winnebago got robbed every other week. His remedy for that was changing one of the two fuel tanks over to septic....it just took one more attempt by the thief to break the habit!

drain your tank. a locking gas cap won't work he or she can just slide under your car and take gas from the gas lines so don't waste your money on a locking gas cap.setup a video camera and show the police the video. you can also buy a fake look-a-like camera.or install a motion sensor light

fix up a dummy tank fill it with gas and add a little sugar ?
i am sure the lizard will slither back the next night

Get a locking gas cap! They are available at any parts store, and are about $10.
The thief will move on to another target!

The only thought that comes to mind is not to try any electrocution methods. You could start a nice fire and burn your car down.
Vote Democratic in 2008. Arabs won't hate us as much, gas prices will come down, and your neighbors won't steal your gas.

You can not set a trap, it is illegal and will put you in jail. I would set up a camera that sends to a vcr or computer.
