I have been married to my wife for less than two years and we are 22 and 21 years old. Yes, I know that is pretty young. And, I was wondering how many times per week people have sex who have been married about the same amount of time. For us, it is very rarely because she just doesn't seem to want to....ever. We have sex maybe once every two or three weeks and I initiate it 100% of the time. She is not adventurous, so she absolutely refuses to try new things and she won't tell me what she likes.

For a while, we had sex every day (for about the first three months of our marriage). Then, suddenly, my wife just decided she didn't want to have sex any more and it takes a VERY special occasion or three hours of begging and another hour of listening to her complain before we actually have sex. And the funny thing is, that most of the time, she "enjoys" herself.

I'm basically wondering if a total loss of a sex drive is normal for women this early in marriage.

I feel for ya, big guy. This is a lot more common than you might think. My wife told me after the birth of our first child that, if it were up to her, we wouldn't have sex any more. I thought it was just the pregnancy and delivery. Nope, she was serious. Her libido was gone and it never came back. After three marriage counselors (over $5000) and 10 years, I gave up the begging, the sex books on techniques, etc., and just resolved to stay married. We had kids, so it wasn't like we never had sex, but it was relatively "non-participatory", if you know what I mean.

It may just be a phase. She may have a hormonal imbalance or some other medical condition, like diabetes, that reduces libido. There are therapies available for something like that. But, if she's not interested in sex - period - no therapy is going to help.

I hate to say this, but if sex is really, really important to you, and it's not at all important to her...and after trying every medical and psychological resource that you can, you really have only two choices: either live with(out) it, or end the marriage due to "irreconcilable differences".

This is normal, lots of women loose interest in sex even early in the marriage. Why don't you sit her down and just try to talk to her. Be gentle and understanding for her but tell her how this is affecting you.

Maybe get her some tasteful lingerer and candles one night. Start a bubble bath for you both with only the candles for light. Have some nice wine or what you like {not beer} on ice and maybe some fruit or something for snack. Get some rose petals and have them all over the bed. She just needs to know that you don't want her to do crazy stuff like a threesome, you just want her. Some women are very insecure with their bodies and think their husbands don't want to see them undressed. We women are very hard on ourselves. We think we not enough because of all the movie stars that look so beautiful. Maybe she wants to be more aggressive but she's afraid you'll think she's slutty or that she's been with more guys then you know. But talk to her and let her know how you feel about her and how much she means to you and that this is your way of showing her.

well every woman is different but i am 22 and my hubby is 24 i loveeeeeeee to have sex daily if possible but my hubby only wants it like once a week which i have always thought was strange we have been married for 3 yrs. ask her why she doesn't want it maybe she is not getting pleased!!! some woman do fake it which i don't understand why they would. i lovvvvve sex and it sometimes gets on my nerves to hear woman say how they just don't want it and they pretend like they are asleep and stuff. not only do i like it but i love to make him feel good. i don't know maybe she might be being selfish. if she doesn't want to have sex than ask her to give you oral or something. i honestly think this is a spouses duty to please each other. i couldn't be in a marriage if my spouse never wanted to have sex with me i would feel unwanted and stuff and this is coming from a woman. but i here about woman like this all the time and maybe she even has a hormone imbalance or something. just try and make it earth shattering for her lol. make it a night she can't forget everytime and then maybe she will want it more!!!!!!!!!11

Most couples should at least twice a week!

It is abnormal for your wife to have NO SEX DRIVE AT ALL!

You should talk with her about this.
Tell her that it is really a big issue.
Especially for your age.
Women MUST take care of their HOMEWORK... if you know what I mean!
Maybe she is having some type of hormonal issue which is causing this.
Try to talk about it. Tell her how you feel.
Good luck!!!

I lost interest in sex with my last partner, which was a three year relationship, but i think it had more to do with other issues that i wasn't happy about, and i didnt want to give him what he wanted while he wouldnt listen to how i felt and stuff.
In my new relationship i want it all the time.

It can happen. I'm female and 19, and have no interest in sex. I had the most when I got married, then it just went away. Who really wants to do it with the same person all the time.

I feel bad for you. I know how you feel. I had a friend that admitted that she loses interest in sex after the first couple of months of being with somebody. I guess that could of happened to her.
