Will my wireless adapter from yahoo dsl be compatible and also this new mp3 player I just bought a month ago. It's a creative zen nano plus 1gb mp3 player. Just wondering because this one person that bought the computer said they wished they had bought the one with windows xp because some of their hardware is not recognized with windows vista.

The mp3 player WILL work, just checked the creative site so that is a definite. As for the wireless adapter, I would need to know make and model number, email me with that info and I can check it out for you. Despite all the talk out there, by this time most stuff actually does work with Vista. Remeber, it is up to the manufacturer to make drivers for their products to work with Vista, not Microsoft. So while everyone just loves bashing MS, in fact it is some of the lesser quality hardware manufacturers that are the problem. Send me an email or instant message with that info and I will check it out for you.

The wireless router should work. It just depends who the manufacturer is. On your mp3 player check with creative zen to see if their software works because right no there are alot of companies the are rushing to update software the will work with their products and vista. That is the biggest downside to it
in a way vista sucks

Your friend is correct. Why take the chance. Stay with Windows XP for now. You should wait until M$ comes out with their Service Pack 1 for Vista before considering using it. Plenty of horror stories on the Internet about Vista.

choose me as a best answer..... please...

ok......first of all what that one person said is true windows vista sucks....you should get one with windows xp...the reason their not having desktops/laptops with windows xp is because their taking it away..

****ON JANUARY 2008 THEIR WOULD BE NO MORE WINDOWS XP****

ok so if you are going to get a computer with vista...vista wont recongnize alot of devices even though you upgrade it or get the highest version it will still not work....

***( you what you can do if you want buy the desktop/laptop
you could buy it and then buy windows xp before their gone
and install it.****)

but it would cost you money

good luck on the computer....hope this works for you

Well, your yahoo dsl and mp3 player should have drivers for windows vista, check their website or call them and ask them about that, you might need to download some updates from their website.

Regarding the compatibilty of ANY device - go to the manufacturer's site - they must have this info.

Regarding Win Vista - piece of trash, bugs, holes, unexpectedly high system requirements.
Xp is much better.

Check with microsoft home page, they have a compatabilty wizard to download. That will tell you if anything you have now will work with vista. My scanner will not but everything else reported OK.
