hell yes, i notice it! i have a tendacy to steer toward black movies, cuz i love black men and can't relate to an all=white cast...i love the following movies:
hitch, bestman, idlewood, players club, four brothers, huslte and flow, smokin' aces....
point being, i love to watch BLACK PEOPLE....rarely will i go see a movie that i know has more white people than black....and that's because i can't relate to white people....my world has white neighbors and i shop in suburbs with mostly white people, but i guess deep down i really want to see my people.
so yeah, i notice when there are no Black people in a movie.

True, sometimes you can't help but to notice. It sort of just "pops" into you head, so to speak. But what I notice far more, than when a particular group of people isn't included in movies or programming, are the stereotypes. I often annoy my husband while we're watching television or a movie, because I interrupt our viewing with discussion regarding this issue.
Hollywood is constantly associating Italians with organized crime. Asians are often portrayed as incomprehensible villains; Gypsies as thieves, fortune tellers, carnis, etc...; Lesbians as man haters, Native Americans as savages whose goal in life is to kill the white man; Black Americans as thugs, bee boppin' homies and hoochies from the ghetto, bumbling imbeciles, etc...; Arabs as terrorists or oil-rich sheiks.... I could go on all day.
I'm not suggesting that the above be forbidden. I'm a firm believer in the right to free speech, so I don't support censorship. But I do wish that more people would express the desire to see various people in less (and non) stereotypical roles.

Well much of the population in the United States is White, so you'll see more of them. However, to say there are no Blacks in film and television is a gross overstatement. There are movies and TV shows will a mostly (if all) Black cast. There are even a few movies Black leads.

The absense of blacks in movies is a reflection of population we make up in this country which is 11%.
I am use to being one of few or the only blacks in certain situations. Blacks and whites have different interest so for instance if you see a movie about swimming, skiing or hockey its not uncommon to see few or no black at all. That's not to say blacks don't swim, ski or play hockey, but we don't do it to the level of whites.
Have you ever seen a movie with white people at their family reunion? For many blacks its a big deal which is why we make movies about it whether serious or comedy. That's no saying that blacks value family more.
I notice sterotypes of people in movies as oppossed to head counting.

Not really, because movies are about the main character and he could be any color. I just watch shows or movies to enjoy time.

In superman, the guy who says "that outfit is bad..." (or something like that ) is black...
Of course they give the only speaking black character the most stereo-typical urban line possible...
I'm hispanic...and i notice when here are no hispanic people in movies....
I also notice when blacks and hispanics die quickly in a movie...

No, I don't try to look for certain races in films, I just try to enjoy the movie.
