-4x = 6x + 30
-4x - 6x = 6x - 6x + 30
-10x = 30
-10x/-10 = 30/-10
x = -3

-4(-3) = 6( -3 + 5)
12 = 6(2)
12 = 12

-4x = 6x + 30
transpose
-30 = 6x + 4x
-30 = 10x
-30/10 = 10x/10
-3 = x

multiply 6 by the factors in parentheses=
-4x=6x +30
Get the xs on one side and the number on the other=
-10x=30
divide by negative 10 to get x by itself=

x= -3
