after the invasion of the us, Iraq had become a breeding ground for sectarian violence. when Saddam was in office , he controlled the religious terrorists . after the invasion, more than 6,00,000 people of Iraq were killed and 2,00,000 people migrated to other countries. now no body knows in Iraq when would death knock at their doors. no law and order, only anarchism, chaos are reigning the country. Iraq had become a quagmire for the us.

How would you expect the answers be coming from CBS?
Their main goal is to make the Bush Administration look
bad and probably paid those Iraq's to make those statements.
Considering all of the people that Saddam Hussein killed
and the party that was going on while they were tearing
down his statues and pictures, I would say that the answer
is that the people are better off withOUT Saddam.
Just an fyi... The CBS News source was a question
Was Iraq Better Off Under Saddam?
Not is it hard to believe, quit trying to twist words.

I believe that most people who were content to have Sadaam as the leader of Iraq, really don't know what to do with themselves now that he is gone. And for them it probably would have been better if he had stayed in power.
But those people are much more like Sadaam. The regular citizens who suffered and died (or know and loved people who did) because of his whims are probably happier now, no matter what kind of unrest might exist there today.

Afdf... you are the kind of person who gives us conservatives a bad name. Being illiterate and stupid is not something to show off to the world.
To answer the question, why would Iraq be better off under a cruel dictator, whose sons would troll for women then kill them, who would videotape brutal beatings, who dropped chemical munitions on innocent Northern Iraqis (Kurds) and was finally hanged (that is correct) for these crimes among others.
On the other hand we are now in the country, providing medical care better than anything Iraq has ever seen, giving food to all who need it, and killing anyone who tries to stop our humanitarian mission.
Does this answer your question sufficiently?

No. That's why around 50,000 Iraqi's leave their homes every month -- around Two million have left so far, including most of the professionals and secular people.
To the person above, those people dancing -- that was a staged photo op --.

That depends on whether you like being a prisoner of a tyrant who will not hesitate to destroy you at a minute's notice or not.
No matter how difficult things are for the Iraqi people, now they have what everyone needs,..Freedom.
Are you willing to give up your Freedom and substitute a ruthless tyrant ?
You answer will also answer your question.
