It'll be a big difference betwen central air or just a window box unit. Even then you have to take into account the power of the window unit and the size of the room(s) being cooled.

Do you mean a central A/C or a window A/C? I live in AZ and it gets to be 115+ outside and it stays 75 in the house, so a difference of 40 degrees.

My stupid Air conditioner goes to 60* no lower so my nights are 10* warmer than I like! I like Blankets!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do have to admit that living in New England, reducing the summer humidity is sometimes MORE important than reducing the heat!
