I had a person answer one of my math questions and they put a ^in between the formula and numbers what does that mean. does it mean multiply or adding or what?

It means "to the power of." So if they did something like 3^2, that would mean "three squared," or 3².

2 x 2 = 4 . . . . it means also 2^2 = 4
3 x 3 x 3 = 27. . . it means 3^3 = 27

Plus, you might like to know that the sign is called a caret, pronounced carrot, but not to be confused with that orange thing liked by rabbits. Thoiugh there is a connection there, since if you have 2 rabbits, you soon have 2^10 rabbits.

^ usually means raised to a power. For example x^2 means x squared, (x+y)^3 means the quantity x+y raised to the third power.

By convention, the ^ means "to the power of", since most text editors can't handle superscripts or subscripts.
