Dazzle em with footwork and Baffle em with Bravo Sierra.
Thanks!! you reminded me that i need to reread the reports about the guy's Kerry's group got to testify to Congress. I think one was a cook on a Frigate. You know he saw lots of action in the Vills.
I dated a Vietnamese woman for 6 years. her brother in law was career ARVN 1955-1975. When the Swift boat stuff resurfaced it was new news to most Vietnamese. Got lots of press in the Vietnamese language newspapers. Being the only white guy amidst 7 women and him I got bombarded with a lot of questions. These were very angry people. I could not get any to tell me what the articles said but the consensus was "Where are my raped, pillaged and murdered family because no one was killed by the US or raped etc. Thomas (Tran) was pounding his fist on his desk screaming something, when he saw me he did some more screaming and then say's "Why does he lie?" "I coq a dic" not sure I spelled that right. It's close enough to English you should get what he wanted to do.
Thanks again

Seems to me like you just bluster around a lot, saying stuff that everyone else is saying, but saying it in just such a way so as to sound intellectually superior. Or you could do some serious sucking-up to someone with the authority to deem you an intellectual (again, blustering all the while). Very few of those modern people to whom we refer as intellectuals actually deserve the title.

Being called 'intellectual', like being called 'humble', is something that is conferred a person by his or her peers. It is not something a person sets out to be called. It is the culmination of years of being a certain personality, living by a certain set of ethics and acting on your beliefs. You can't call yourself 'intellectual' any more than you can call yourself 'humble'. After all, the simple act of calling oneself 'humble' is, basically, vain, the antithesis of being humble. So, to be an intellectual, one has to be like the Scarecrow and 'Think great thoughts'. Then you have to sit back and wait. Wait for others to catch on that they are in the presence of an intellectual. Don't worry, they'll let you know.

So here's the thing. If you think about it, well you're an intellectual. If you just fly off the handle, run at the mouth, or otherwise jump to conclusion, you're basically not an intellectual.

I've never considered him to be an intellectual, and that's coming from someone admittedly to the left.
