You have steroids plaguing the majors. Major leaguers are more worried about the dollar than winning ball games. Major Leaguers are pampered and lazy.

I know you don't have the best players in the majors, but you can get seats right behind home plate for $10 at some parks. So it seems like minor league ball might be a bargain for someone that loves baseball and is tired of all the 'crap' in the majors.

Am I right?
What do you think?

more fan friendly but the players are minor leaguers.
The admission is fair. They have family nights and $1 beers or .25 cent soda nights. So you can have more fun and your dollar goes farther. But the players are developmental and game is not as good at times.

In theory yes... however some of my friends growing up are now minor league players in the Royal's system. Some being career minor leaguers. I've seen alot of minor league ball. The hard thing is that alot of the excitement of baseball is the lights, roar of the crowd, and exceptional play/ability. Minor leagues lack in all 3 categories. I forget the ratio of minor leaguers who make it to the show but I know it's low. Reason being alot of people in the minors were signed to long, cheap contracts as prospects.. they don't pan out to make it.. but are still clogging up the league with there sub-par skill (sometimes painful to watch)
It is cheaper and you can get better seats but any baseball fan will admit that getting close to see the 7th shortstop in a crappy organization's farm team is no where near as exciting as seeing guys play in the peak of a career that will be in the hall of fame some day. Breaking real records (as opposed to minor league records which are really meaningless) and making real history.
I would much rather go back in time and pay $100 to get up close and watch Babe Ruth swing the bat than pay $4 to see a guy named Mike pitch for the birmingham bee's and then apply at a grocery store after his 14k per year contract is up.

Steroids are common in the minors, too.
MLB players are pampered, but not lazy. They get top dollar by performing well, which takes effort. If they don't try, they risk losing playing time, bonuses, jobs, value in arbitration or free agent market, fan support, respect...and they lose games. I have a hard time believing that they don't try, or care. Steroid uses certainly care-and they work out hard to benefit. (I hate steroids use, by the way.)

That said, I've seen some minor league games, and I think they're great. There's a casual, light atmosphere..and fireworks some games for my local minor league team. And with the price...I like it.

But the quality of play makes a difference, and with MLB you get a special feeling, knowing that you're seeing the best in the world.

Oh, for sheer fun, yes! They have goofy promotions, they throw balls and t-shirts and things up into the crowds, they have distractions for young kids who can't quite hang with a 9 inning game, and the players are playing hungry and REALLY appreciate the fans who come out. For about 2% of what it costs to park at places like Wrigley, it's a flat-out BARGAIN!!! It is a LOT of fun, too, a few years later, to see some of those minor leaguers in the bigs.

Come on, you are talking about MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL! If you want to watch the best pllayers on earth play baseball than you know that MLB is where it's at. If you are trying to get the most bang for your buck then the minors are the way to go. As far as your question, what is the best product....that's a no brainer. It's called the Major league for a reason......

It goes without saying, those guys give 100% every game from start to finish. At that level, it's not all about the dollars they make. They have to work hard to get to the next level. I wish baseball would put a cap on every team based on their market size so the game could be fair. The small teams don't stand a chance.
