The honest answer is - it depends. If I drop everything to help a friend, my family and my colleagues at work would feel the downside of my helping. Kids have to go to school and at work we rely on eachother to get the job done.
But if I can convince myself, my family and work that it is a very important thing to help someone in need, I would probably do it.

yes, i am a push over, one time hubby called me at like 2:00 am to drive up to his work cause he forgot something and i had to wake up my kids who were 3 and 5 at the time..
