I don't think we should blame a WHOLE SOCIETY CRUMBLING on Bush alone. Yeah he's a bad president, but we're still responsible for our individual act. I don't see how our country is reviving itself in any way.... at least, not currently

Let me begin by stating my true age. I was born on October 14, 1950, which makes me 56 years old. More than half a century has passed before these eyes of mine...
And it has been quite an amazing century, too!! Why, I can remember when having a television was a luxury, and when computers lived in HUGE buildings that took up an entire city block!! I can remember when Mom stayed home and took care of the kids, while Dad went off to work...and one paycheck was enough to support a family!! I can remember when nice girls didn't have sex and nice boys didn't talk about it. When you didn't even so much as kiss on your first date. I can remember when being a virgin was "in" and you rarely, if ever, heard of a pregnant teenager.
I can remember when every day at school opened with a simple prayer...three or four lines long...and evolution was taught the very same afternoon, as if there were no conflict at all!
What I cannot remember is crazy kids shooting up the schools, or one-parent families, or an outrageous divorce rate. What I cannot remember is Muslim terrorism. What I cannot remember is parents scared to death to let their kids out of their sight on Halloween. What I can't remember is an abortion death toll of 44,000 unborn kids a DAY!! I can't remember gangstas, or street drugs.
Yes, I can remember racism. It was horrible then...and it is still horrible now. Truly, not much has changed there.
You ask, do I think American society is crumbling? Lord, yes! Yes, I'm afraid that is exactly what is happening!
Reviving itself? Well, not so anybody could notice, no. But we still have our kids. Yeah, I know...they are so confused by what they see in the world around them, and they are being brainwashed by the very people they ought to be able to trust...their teachers, for God's sake! The world is a very scary place for our young people...
But, the future is up to you!
If I have any advice at all to give to you, it is this: hold on to what was good, from our past! Don't throw out the baby with the bath water! Sure, it was not a perfect age...but there was so much that was good in it! Fight to take back our family values, because without them, we have no roots! Fight to take back our faith, because without it we have no hope! Love is a wonderful thing...but don't confuse it with sex! Have respect for life...all life...even that tiny, yearning life in the womb!
Let us, the "older generation" grow old in peace, and die with grace...and do not mourn for us, for we knew love and beauty in our lives.
Live...love...laugh...
and be beautiful, as God meant you to be!

I don't believe there is any question that our nation is on the decline. No one is willing to take responsibility for their own actions. We've become a nation that demands instant gratification has has a warped sense of entitlement. We expect our children to be well adjusted members of society but expect our schools systems and television to rear them. Kids nowadays have no fear as they grow up without any boundaries or real consequences to their actions.
People need to quit putting blame everywhere else and look at their own homes. Our government needs to do the same and fix the problems within our own nation before becoming the self appointed healers of the world.

It is absolutely falling apart. The basic values are considered outdated. Just look at the Roman Empire, the more decadent it got the harder it was to keep together. Then it just fell apart, because everyone was more worried about themselves. Sound familiar?

American society is on the way down..We have rejected God and God is giving us more chances, but I don't believe that the people will listen. Our country is doomed. The natural disasters will increase, we will spend a lot of money on war and never win, we will have more terrorism and it will cost dearly in money and lives lost.. Eventually we will be a second grade country ...

yes american is crumbling... technology isn't the problem in my opinion. nor any of the other things you have mentioned. the lack of truth to oneself and his/her surroundings is murdering us... action without thought of consequence... intolerance to constructive diversity... but it's not american that is crumbling it's mankind... when benedict arnold is controlling our conscience we are doomed! red, yellow, black or white. it makes no difference... i can write a book...

It's a broad question, no pun intended. It's probably reviving itself, but we won't know for sure until God forbid we face an epic national crises.

It seems as if it's crumbling. We have ourselves to blame for it, too.
