See, they have to wait until we leave to follow us home because none of them have computers, mapquest, globes, maps, GPS, airline schedules or any other way of finding us. Once our soldiers leave, the terrorists can swim across the ocean and attack us.
Remember that the people who killed our fellow Americans on 9/11 were here legally as far as we know, and got into the country quite easily. They didn't need to be led by anyone.

They aren't literally going to follow us home. Besides, it's not the insurgents who are going to "follow us home" it's the terrorists.
Pulling out of Iraq will be a sign of weakness to the terrorists. Like pulling out of Somalia was in 1993. That showed the world that we lack the resolve to fight the fight against Islamic terrorism. They know that and continued their fight leading to the attacks in the US.
The same could happen if we pull out without success in Iraq.
That's what that means.

Perhaps if we make a couple of hard rights and lefts when crossing the Atlantic ocean they will get lost and not be able to find us.

Yeah a few radicals will try we just need to catch them we are spending billions on this war if we spent a small portion of that war money and added it to national defense then anyone trying to attack us would be caught.
