You are a top contributor, and I think your question really values. My investigation and some years back i was much interested in collecting the prophesies, regardless of religion.

But in this research I have also taken care that any such personality should also bear historical significance and good character.

I have found most significant factor is that, in righteous prophesies time is not mentioned but signs are given.

So yes it is right to say that there would be a new world after 2010, but in no way 2012 or 2020 will be the end of world, because many of the major signs not yet fulfilled, among them one common is the three earth quakes in the three sides of world, Anti christ, Third world war, ariving of awaited righteous guide, and return of Jesus. When these signs completed then after that period world will end.

But yes if collecting prophesies altogether from different religions, intellectuals and forcasting of science, it is presumed safely that year 2000 to 2020, are the two decades where most the major signs are expected to be emerged.

So people have very few time left for reptence and bring themselves back to the truth.

I don't think the world will end in 2012. Our atmosphere isn't that bad just yet, we still have hundreds or millions of years till global warming is to bad. The only thing that would make our world end is people, say someone decided to destroy the world all they would have to do is send an atomic bomb. That would be our only cause for worry.

Not if Planet X has anything to do with it, apparently it is due to cause a pole turn on Earth next May, so we'll see which happens first lol....there have been "End of The World" theories throughout history, and so far none have come true.

Who knows. The world may go to S*#^ by then... but it could end tomorrow too. I think putting a date on it only scares people. We're all going to die and that is all there is to it... we can't change how or when so enjoy it while you have it!

The Mayans NEVER SAID the world will end on 2012, they said it will be THE NEW AGE.

There's a difference...

No, that was brought on because the ancient Mayan calendar ended in 2012... if they had survived longer, they would have even changed the date.
