when your looking at the cap, go over 2 wires clockwise from where the distributor power wires plug into. that is your #1 terminal. after that it 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. this should help better than most.

You got it? Hope so.. Do you know how to find the #1 on the cap? Some times it's stamped on there other times you need to bring the crank shaft around to TDC if the rotor is pointing to the front of the engine that's your #1 if it's pointing to the back of the engine then you need to rotate another 360 degrees on the crank.
