"snag" needs a bowel movement. if it's an outboard, it's so old it must have guillotine points. let's say it's a neat 4 cylinder and the points set at .017". now make the timing correct and you have a great little putter.

This should be a car engine. Most likely a Chevy? It gap just like the car. I guessing about .032/.035. But, ask a Auto Part Store.

Do you mean .020 point gap? That is the recommended gap in points.
Need more info! Inboard or outboard,year,hp etc....model/serial would help too!
