Because to be human and be against this is like being a pig actively against the abolition of bacon?
What do you think?

I am educated. Any more and I will explode because I am struggling with the amount of stupidity on here that I could not cope if I was any brighter.
The anti rights people are really thick.
And I DO NOT watch TV at all. Its too dumb for me. Thanks.

Most people in this country are too ignorant and stupid to even know what their "human rights" actually are, or where they derive.
They are far too busy increasing the viewing figures for mindless c rap like "Britain's Got Talent" and BB to even bother to find out what this phrase they so readily bandy about (along with "political correctness gone mad" and "hard working taxpayer") actually means.
But - let's face it - if they ever got themselves in a situation whereby they needed them, they would be thankful they exist.
And long may they do so.

Not alien as in to planet earth but maybe to the concept of how important international HR agreements are to us all. The existence of Guantanamo and renditions are appalling blots on Western claims to the moral high ground.
It ain't no good saying there are more abuses in other countries, it's quality not quantity that matters. By dropping standards in any area we open the door to more abuses of Human Rights occurring.
I think quality of life for all should be as important an aim as perservation of life too.

I understand what you are saying. As soon as you mentioned the word alien you lost a lot of people, because that word reminds people of kooky Roswell theories. Some people are against a Human Rights convention, because they consider it a threat to our policies of torture and holding prisoners without a trial.

no I believe people against human rights are people in an older mindset , they care about themselves there country and there family , they don't care about what happens in other countrys . Alot of people see this as heartless but the truth is arugments can be made for and against this kind of thinking , personally I believe everyone deserves human rights .

North Korea is called "The Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea".....now who could be against that? My point is that you can put a fancy name on anything....it's what's inside that counts.

Depends. If it is really a socialists convention, it is the OPPOSITE of human rights. Look at the record of socialist states to date!
If it is really about an open debate about human rights, then...well...I need your address and directions (as the crow flies) to your house. Purely for prob...research purposes, of course.
Sorry, K Marx, I took my prompt from your name. What Human Rights Convention are you talking about? I'd hate to mis-answer you and appreciate the emails of those who are helping me correct my mistakes, as you are trying to do. I'm looking forward to more details.
Got the details. No problem. We should have one reflecting American values as well, here.

I'm still trying to figure out what your question is.
Depens on what "human rights" you are referring to.
Illegal alien rights? They have no rights in this country except to leave. That's the bottom line.
