I hope this doesn't hurt anyone's feelings but I've got a problem with the emails I'm receiving from my Yahoo Answers contacts, there's just too many! I've been getting like 50 emails a day regarding questions that have been posted by my contacts. I don't think I see any of them on here right now so do you think you guys could help me? Is there a way to block this feature without blocking my contacts?
(funny smart*ss comments welcome as well as real solutions!)

Ignatz - You ROCK!!! Thanks for getting the info from Andy - I don't know why he didn't just tell me himself!

Go to "Edit my info" and uncheck the box that says "Email me when a Contact asks a question"

My answer is intended wittily, yet quite sincerely.
You should create a Word file with a standard generic answer, then simply paste that answer into each e-mail from a Goober or Floyd you don't want to begin a conversant relationship with. This would give them a subtle hint, without being rude like that heinous Clara would be. Your reply could be something like this:
"Thank you so very much for contacting me, but I can't discuss this with you. I'm too busy baking blueberry pies for this Sunday's church social, and I also have a steady stream of gentlemen callers from my past who keep showing up and trying to woo me. And, oh my goodness, Opie's been gone fishing for days, and Andy and I have to go find him because his supper's getting cold, and Clara keep's coming around trying to gloat about her daughter's newest. Thank you again. Now, where's Andy? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAN-DY!"
If they persist and recontact you, simply use it again. They can hardly claim you're being rude to them. :-)

No one will know when you "remove" your contacts. Just make that private in your profile then no one can even look to see if you took them off. That way if you have zero contacts you wont receive any emails stating "Your contact asked a question and do you know the answer?". ☻☺☻☺☻

I'd like to know too. I don't like logging into my email account with 60 emails letting me know that my Yahoo Answers contacts have asked a question. Annoying.

Undo the ability for others to email you in your profile or treat them like spam and delete w/o reading them.
