Freedom of speech means you won't be arrested and charged for criminal offense for things you say. Just because it is legal to say, doesn't mean it is a good idea or you should say it. It doesn't also mean, you won't face consequences. It just means you won't be called a criminal.

If you don't believe me, walk up to your parents and tell them they are worthless piece of meat. You know, this speech is protected under the freedom of speech clause in our constitution. I can guarantee you, you won't be arrested. I can also guarantee you, you will face consequences other than laws.

You are truly a sad person if legality is the only measurement you measure your actions against. Legality is the last line of defense. A good person has a lot more criteria to use, when judging their actions.

Freedom of speech is a precious rights many people in other countries do not have. It certainly wasn't made for someone to just mouth off or be carefree about what they might say. It is made for advancing ourselves by encouraging free exchange of ideas.

I worry about it because I have tact; I don't particularly like to offend people when I don't have to.

My Freedom of Speech is precious to me, and I love excersizing it. I just don't cursing or using deragatory terms is really necessary. That's all.

There is no freedom of speech on answers, though.
If someone disagrees enough to report you, Big Brother Yahoo deletes your answer.
So I guess it's more important to be nice than to be accurate.

Because no one wants to be rude or start sh*t... how would you feel if someone said whatever to you and then hollered out "well, thats my freedom of speech..."

Because some people in our country are stupid as ****. For example: censorship. It's worthless.

People are just afraid of things that are out of the ordinary, or not up to society's standards.
