If i need to use some pictures found from other website, how can i ask for a copyright?Can show me some examples as in what i should ask for? How do i also know what images have copyright and what images does not have copyright?

In additional, this 2 website i am not sure.
1)Wikipedia
if i use wikipedia's images or text do i need to ask for copyright? If not, what i need to write in my website to at least aknowledge them?

2)www.nndb.com/
I do not know if the iformation and images from this website requires copyright?

Thanks for the both responses.
That's right, i only need it for a personal website that is not for commercial. It is also an assignment from school.

So, does that means that i also do not have to ask for permission if the image are some celebrities?

Are you gathering pics from other sites to your own site?

There is no need for copyright as long as you are not charging for them...

Too, some sites like won't let you download any of their pics into say your 'photo/pic' files on your computer....These have protections already built in.

Now on the other hand, if you are doing this for a school and/or outside work project -- Somewhere you should designate in your notes your sources...

I agree with dixon.

The Internet is a public place. If someone puts a photo up on a site, it's available to anyone.

As long as you are not using someone's intellectual property for profit, you should be ok.

Try downloading a picture from and art gallery site or an artist's site and you'll find that either the images are blocked from being downloaded or copied or the picture will have a watermark through it.
