White House of Mirrors

President Bush has turned the executive branch into a two-way mirror. They get to see everything Americans do: our telephone calls, e-mail, and all manner of personal information. And we get to see nothing about what they do.

Everyone knows this administration has disdained openness and accountability since its first days. That is about the only thing it does not hide. But recent weeks have produced disturbing disclosures about just how far Mr. Bush’s team is willing to go to keep lawmakers and the public in the dark.

That applies to big issues — like the C.I.A.’s secret prisons — and to things that would seem too small-bore to order up a cover-up.

I think it's horrible what Bush and the rest of the feds have done since 9/11. But I know that any democrat would have done the same thing since all of the major tier candidates have the backing of the shadowy globalists.

LOL...honey did you miss your 8th grade civics class the day they discussed the difference between the OPINIONs / EDITORIAL page and the rest of the newspaper......

This isn't an IMPORTANT fact finding article, or an important piece of investigative journalism. This is the ususal left wing garbage spewed on the editorial pages of the TImes. This isn't news--this is hyperbole.

When its on the front page and presented with evidence--then post. Until then, here's a nice parting gift for you...................

We need to look to the future and only look to the past to reflect on our mistakes as to not repeat them. Let's make sure in 08 we don't repeat these mistakes and elect the right person for the job.

Once I read the part where it refered to MR. Bush instead of President Bush, I knew I was reading anti-Bush hate propaganda. That was enough for me to know not to waste anymore of my time. It is a shame when reporters do not give our elected leaders the respect they deserve.

Why are people desperately trying to get our government to give up all our national secrets? Are we getting suicidal?

Will you, Americans, finally hold the people doing this responsible for the problems it causes when these things are revealed? Remember the other New York Times articles about our national secrets?

You want this? What ideology is so important to you that you would sacrifice your own country?
