The old foot in the mouth! Yes I have but they didn't feel insulted they though I was coming on to them ! I wasn't at all ! A good old friend we used to joke around a lot and one day he thought maybe I was really into him!! He was just a friend ! He finally said" When were kidding around you know I'm just kidding right"! I told him that I knew we were and asked him what he was thinking ! We started to laugh and I gave him a slap on the back of the head and we had remained friends until the day he died!! He was from England and his name was Alf and I did love the bugger but not in that way!! It was very uncomfortable at the time but I never want to forget it ! The look on his face was priceless !! lmao

I was on the recieving end of that. I felt like an @ss. This guy asked me, "Do you use conditioner?" and I got totally offended and started cursung at him telling him to not get so close to me etc if he thought I smelt so [darn] funny. He looked at me really weird, took a step back, and said, "Whoa! I was just going to tell you that your hair smelled really good but I guess I should stay farther away from you." I apologized and felt like such a sham. We laughed about it later.

Yes I have, and it's left me standing, wondering - pray tell me how could that possibly be taken the wrong way?
So I have just apologized and gone about doing what I 'm doing.
But still leaves you with that shaking your head in disbelief feeling, plus a little hurt and thinking I'll never do that again!

I once told a woman who was in the elevator with me that her perfume smelled nice, and she turned to me and said" I am glad that you like it, however, I hope you have no intentions of going out and getting it yourself because I like this scent on me and no one else" After that, I only pay people compliments who I know and trust who wont go psycho on me!

I Had given my daughter money to get her Hair Done.
A few hours later, she walked in, and I said "I thought you were getting your hair done?"
She said: " I Did! " (Very embarrassing.) I then told her " I liked the New Style." Not a good situation at all.

I said to a woman I know from up the school - " you're looking really well.....when's the baby due now? It must be soon..."

she looked at me like I'd grown a second head and said "I had the baby 4 weeks ago"..............

I didn't know where to put myself. Not much I could say really....

Once. Stumbled all over my tongue, had to backtrack and start all over again. Said a word opposite from what I should have said in the middle of it.
It was a mess!

The only time this happens is when you complement a woman's body. Always backfires. So I look, but say nothing!!
