I believe it would be a closer race than between Hillary and any other Republican candidate but she would still win, with a comfortable margin. Most of the moderate Independents I know, and good many true liberals, support Paul or Obama, but when faced with a choice between Sen. Clinton, whether they like her much or not, and Fred Thompson who has become extremely right wing, most will vote for the Democrat. Most of them would rather die than vote for another Republican. Especially after Ron Paul fades away. The conservatives will mobilize a movement to try and make sure Sen. Clinton doesn't get in, but a movement will also mobilize from the other direction, simply to thwart the Republicans. If the war's still going strong this country's citizens are not going to hand the keys to the henhouse to the next Republican fox standing in line. No crystal ball here, just my opinion of course.

I wouldn't vote for Thompson, he should stick with acting (I like to be able to tell when I'm being lied to), but he would be far better than Hillary. Fred Thompson is a member of the CFR, if you don't know what that means for the USA's sovereignty, then you should look it up.
Fred says the things you want to hear about being
"conservative", but if you compare his single senate term records to Ron's, he doesn't limit government at all, especially in ways that really matter. If you want another globalist in the office, he's your man. If you want a constitutionalist, Ron Paul should fit the bill.
We simply cannot afford Hillary, we are nearly bankrupt.

Fred Thompson would beat Hillary in the Presidential Election.
He is older and wiser, he has more experience and I believe the country still has questions in their minds and hearts about Clinton's in the White House.
I believe the country is sick and tired of either a BUSH or CLINTON being in office and we need a major change.
Fred Thompson represents that change and he has the best chance of being our next President is he wants it.

No question about it, Fred Thompson. I will be very interested to hear his proposals after he announces this week. From what I've seen and heard so far, he looks like he may be my guy. At the very least he doesn't come off as wimpy or PC. I hate it when politicians are PC. Say what you mean and mean what you say for Pete's sake!

I would most certainly vote for Thompson. I am hoping he is the next Regan! Hillary winning is the worst nightmare. However, there is more of a chance that she will become our next commander and chief.

I'd vote for Fred out of these two - but I'm still hoping someone stronger emerges. I'll honor your request to only choose between these two and not mention anyone else......
Maybe Sam Waterson can be his Veep - they're a good team on Law and Order!!!!
