Excess saliva is a symptom many women get in early pregnancy. I get it every time and it drives me crazy! I have to keep a spit cup on hand...ugh..
There's not anything to do about it because hormones are probably causing the excess saliva production, and if you are having morning sickness it could be making it worse because you want to swallow less....thus making spit build up in your mouth. My midwife told me to try sugar-free gum, but it did not help my mouth dry up. Just made the spit taste minty fresh! lol
Maybe you could try nibbling on crackers or pretzels to dry your mouth up?
If you are also having nausea and throwing up, you can try things with real ginger in them, or try always keeping a little food in your stomach - don't let yourself get really hungry. Sipping on flat Coke or Sprite helps. Some women find relief from nausea by using Sea Bands.
If all else fails, your doctor can prescribe a morning sickness medication.
