I saw somebody ask what is your favourite... So, I looked it up in the dictionary and sure enough, it was their. The definition of the two seemed very similar. What is the difference.. ?>

I just reliazed I spell their. I meant there. So no corrections on that thanks. I know the difference.

In the US, we don't use the "u", in the UK, Australia, and Canada, they do. Same meaning, different spelling. Same goes for "color/colour" and for the letters s/z, like in the word "realize/realise."

I think it is all in the Geography...I am from the South so we are going to say and spell things a little differently, not that all the things that we spell are in the dictionary though. If you are from the North or West you might say it another way.

The Brits toss in a "u" sometimes just for the heck of it.

It is Canadian english eh...we also spell colour different and a few others..

The extra "u" is used in the U.K.

UK uses "ou", they also say colour.
