When I go to the beach, I would need less ice in my cooler to keep my drinks cold because it would last longer.

If ice melted slower, it would make everything around it colder slower than normal ice. You might need to buy just as much ice to cool your drinks as fast as normal ice. It might make a better ice sculpture, or as temporary building material that would disappear after a while.

You could get more drink in those restraunts that put more ice than drink, so if we had ice that lasted longer, maybe they would not put as much ice.

You know that you can do this if you really wanted to find out. All you need is colder ice...or an insulated cup/cooler.
