The first and only time I heard the name Laikyn was a couple years ago when I had a Lakyn in my class. She was the sweetest little girl so, being a teacher, I associate that name with a very nice girl. I can definitely see, though, how it could also be used as a boys name. I really like the name Kenna as well for a girl. Good picks!

When i read the question before the details, the first thing that came to mind was 'it had better be for a boy'. But i would swap the 'y' for an 'e', spelling it Laiken, and i would make Kole into Cole, but thats me. When i had my 2 boys, i sat down with the names i had picked out, and just came up with as many different spellings as i could, you wouldnt believe how many alternatives i could think of for Jackson, in the end i chose Jaxin, my husband wanted a strong short name, Jack, but i didnt want the nickname of 'Jacko', so we compromised. Maybe you should look at some alternatives, or ask the father what he would like. Sit down with a pen and paper, and play around swapping letters, like swap the 'y' for e, i, a or o. Then try swapping the 'ai' for ay, ae, ei or ey. Even see if you like it swapping the 'k' for a ch instead. After quickly doing it myself, i like the spelling Laechan, and it looks more boyish. And you can pronounce it the same way.

There was actually a girl on my old old Soap opera, Santa Barbara, that was called "Laken" and I personally think the spelling Laken looks more masculine than Laikyn.
I absolutely think it suits a boy just fine!
Think of all the girls named Dylan now, and there are even girls named Kevin! (One used to be in my daughters class)
Ashley used to be a boys name too. Remember Gone With The Wind?
Laken Cole I think is better. The odd spelling of Kole just looks too feminine to me.
My daughters name is Jacey, and it is an odd name, and people NEVER spell it right, or say it right. it is annoying to her!
Something longer or without the C/K sound as a middle name would work better.
Laken Samuel
Laken Daniel
Laken Brando
soemthing like that.
Good luck!
Kenna Rae is nice.

Laikyn sounds like a type or rock or mushroom or something. It is girly. Most Unisex names are more girly, but not all. If you want an L name try Logan.
Also Kenna Rae is very pretty. I wouln't worry about it sounding like a nickname. To me, it doesn't matter, it's a pretty name. MacKenna is pretty too though.

Definately a girl name. I have a niece named Laken. Spelled differently, but sounds the same. He'll get made fun of.
As for Kenna Rae, sounds sweet, but a little too much like a nick name. How about McKenna Rae and calling her "kenna" for short. I think this is very beautiful.

Laikyn sounds like a girl's name. For a boy, I'd change it to Laike or Lake. I really like that name for a boy. It's unique and not crazy.
Kenna Rae is a nice name too! Good luck!

I am an indian numerologist and astrologer...
Laikyn Kole is surely a boy name by origin....but girls do have this name...its a very good choice for u r boy...
more over it is a VERY POWERFUL name.those having this name and born in the later half of the year will be great philosophers and will have good knowledge...the best name is what u have selected..dont change it at any cost...
Kenna RAE is however a bad choice...Try KENA RAE..

I think that Laikyn looks girly spelled that way. What about Laiken? I even like Layton. Kenna Rae is okay, but I like Kinley better than Kenna...maybe I would like Kynna more? I think it's the Ken part taht I don't really like.

Laikyn sounds more feminine.
Switch it to Cole Laikyn if you really liike the name.
I think I would go with Mckenna or Mckenzy instead of Kenna, it sounds to much like a nick name

if you love the name Laikyn, id switch it to Kole Laikyn. I love the name Kole and as he grows up you can always just call him Laikyn if you decide that he looks like a Laikyn. As for Kenna Rae, I agree that McKenna Rae is very pretty
