YUP!!!!! Hate it. The way I see it, America is an English speaking country. You need to learn it if you live here!

Yeah, but I am more pissed that every home depot now has both English and Spanish labels on EVERYTHING! I do not like having to look for my own language in my own country. Everything here should be in English since English is the American language.

For hundreds of years, this country mostly speaks of English. Sadly, whiny illegal immigrants cant learn the easiest language known to mankind so many parts of the USA welcome many other languages. I believe everything in the united states should be written and spoken in English. This is what increases our taxes and important products at stores when they have to pay for translators and extra materials to hire translator to translate information to different languages such drivers tests, labels and important needed information on the phone. I have a better idea, stop increasing taxes and prices of important products, make everyone learn English or let them rot with nothing. By accepting non-English languages into our country is like agreeing for illegal immigrants to trash our country with filth.

I like the ones that tell you to press 1 if you want Spanish.
I hope they understand that.
Is English the National language or do we have one?
There are some countries where people know English and several other languages. Is that what they are trying to do in the US?

I for one agree I am tired of press 1 for English...how about press 1 for French or German. Please how many different languages are in this country. On top of that there are some dialects of English that could be their own language.

I know what you mean Ted. Unfortunately, businesses want spanish speaking customers which means more profits, so you're not going to see that change. The Corporations have a big hand in the English-only issue and they'll get their way every time.

Also, don't you think its hypocritical that B of A wants illegal aliens for credit card customers? Does that mean you or I can waive our normally required SSN next time we want to open an account?

Its a double standard and completely sick!

Damn Right! And isn't it horrible when you can't understand the person (someone hired at a lower wage) on the other end because English is not their native tongue?

Not really. Businesses want to reach as many customers as possible. A Spanish speaking dollar is still a dollar.

Why. When you get a live body on the phone, they are totally incompetent. At least if I press the wrong button, I've only myself to blame.

Never gave it much thought. I'm fluent in Spanish so, sometimes I "oprima uno" just to bone up on my weakening skills....just for the heck of it .

Perhaps they should add a "Press 2 for Tongues" option, just to further annoy people.
