Just give them space for awhile and wait for them to talk to you. I can almost guarantee that they will start talking to you within a week. Hope everything works out!

Silent treatment is a passive aggressive behavior. I know I have wrongly done the silent treatment; especially to my now ex. It generally is the result of a disagreement and my inability to handle the conflict. so, I opt to go silent basically waiting for an apology from him. Usually my anger was stirred up at the same time and I needed some calm down time. he rarely apologized and I expected it so silent treatment went too long too many times. I really regret silent treatment and wished I'd never used it to deal with conflict. in my defense; I got it honestly - my dad did the same thing. And I KNEW better. depending on your relationship with the person - try to work thru the silent treatment and. if you spouse. tell them it is not acceptable and that you need to work on other methods to deal with conflict. That was one of the first things he asked the woman he left me for.

Number one; never do it back to them when you think they deserve it. A very good friend of mine broke through my wall of defiance when he slipped a note to me. I opened it up and read these words: I'm not going to talk to you till you're ready. But remember that while you don't want to talk to me, you're cutting that bond of friendship and the longer you wait to talk to me, the harder it will be for me to re-accept you as a friend. True friends talk.
Number two; give them time. As their friend, you have to remember that their life doesn't revolve around you, nor does yours to them. If that person giving you silent treatment truly values the friendship that you had before, they will remember you. There is nothing that makes me madder if a person I'm giving silent treatment to constantly asks me bothersome questions about what they did wrong. Just back off. Give the person some space.

Best thing to do is ask him or her why he or she is giving you "shun" (silent) treatment. Best to listen after you ask the person without interruption. If you did do something to hurt or upset a person, live up to your mistake by apologizing to him or her. If the person doesn't respond to your question at all, Leave the person alone to cool down. It could be someone else that might upset the person. When the person ready to talk, just listen.

ignore them right back if you have appologized and they still do it. pretend like it doesnt bother you, if they dont come around then there not a really good friend. also they are immature for using the "silent" treatment. it shows they arent adult enough to deal with the situation at hand.

There has to be a reason. If you can't talk face-to-face, then e-mail them or send a card. Let the person know you miss their friendship and you want to fix whatever is wrong.

depends on whos giving you the silent treatment....friend?boyfriend?
if its a friend then forget about your friendship and ask her whats up.
if its your boyfriend then most likely he wants to break up with you so break up with him first!

yeah, make them laugh or just do the same yourself. She/he'll soon give up. Or if it's because of you, just do something nice like making breakfast in bed or buying small gift or whatever.

if they are that important to you ,try to find out what went wrong ,but overall if they are your friend they will tell you after some time try not to allow people and what they do to become so important because they will use that to there advantage.
