I have been keeping up with the Jessie Davis case. It is absolutely terrible and I am praying for the family. It is mortifying.

I do have a couple of questions though.
I know that they arrested Mr. Cutts after they found the body. I am wondering what evidence they had to do that because the whole time he was not even a suspect.
Secondly I am wondering if an actual cause of death has been given.

Thanks.

OK, I am from this area and we have had a ton of news coverage over the past week or so. The police never called Cutts a suspect in the murder, even yesterday they still clearly stated he is not a suspect. However, they searched his home twice and removed 6 garbage bags full of stuff. They also read him his Miranda rights several days ago. Obviously they were treating him like a suspect. He is a police officer, so I think they exercised a great deal of caution as to how they handled the investigation. They didn't want to make any slip-ups.
The police & FBI are still saying nothing about the details of what was found. They are still investigating and don't want to compromise the investigation. They have not said if he confessed or if they found the body on their own. I tend to think that the police didn't find the body on their own, because where the body was found is almost 25 miles away from where they were doing all these searches. Either he confessed or some random hikers came across the body. No mention of cause of death yet. Yesterday I said that I believe they think he did not do the crime alone and they are really looking to implement an accomplice with him. This was indeed true and they have named another suspect with him. I believe he was probably sleeping with her too, as this "man" is a complete dog.

The entire situation is really sad. I am sad for all of the children that are involved as well as the parents of Cutts and Davis. The discovery of Jessie's body will not just suddenly end their pain. It will continue for a very long period as court cases such as this do. I suspected that Cutts had something to really seriously do with this when in a news interview when asked about his children that he already had he stated yes that he had those children....when asked about the baby girl that Jessie was carrying he stated "possibly"....struck me as a very odd answer especially given the situation.
The way I understand the latest is that Cutts confessed /broke down and took the police to where the body was buried in a shallow grave in the park. He then stated that his friend Lamisha (not sure of how to spell her name) that she had assisted him. He also stated supposedly that Jessie had died because she had been sick and that when she fell on the table she hit her head and then she died. He then called his friend Lamisha from Jessies cell phone (which is why it was missing) and she came and helped him clean up....whether this is actual I am not sure but it is what I heard from semi reliable news source.

what I read today is basically what all you know too....they aren't giving out details, smartly I might add, because they wanted the 2 yr old to just come about anything "normally" without being coaxed, they didn't want anyone else who may have been involved to know authorities are watching them, or jeopardize any evidence the media could leak out, to sort of warn that person to cover their tracks...They just arrested someone else today, an old school chum, a female I believe, and took boxes of things out of the apt....So many factors I believe involved in this case. The guy is a Cop, a Black man/White woman, 9mos pregnant, small child involved, I think to not invite any racism issues, cause you know people will start ranting from all corners, the investigators are doing it possibly right this time and keeping the media informed with only information to pacify the publics curiosity, it will all come out when the investigation is done.....

I haven't heard the cause of death. A lot of the details and evidence is kept confidential. Releasing it could hurt the case. We won't know alot of it until when, and if, Cutts goes to trial. I just heard that a female classmate of Cutts' was arrested in relation to this case. They didn't say what her suspected involvement is.

They have not stated the evidence they have against him as the prosecution believes it may hinder their case prior to his arraignment on Monday. They did arrest his believed accomplice, Myisha Ferrell and believe that there may be even more people involved.

The cause of death has not yet been determined and may take quite a while because of the advanced stage of decomposition the body was on.

I don't think the true story is out yet, cause the case is still being prosecuted. The arrest was made of a police officer, so they must have a very strong case to force them to arrest one of their own. It's one of those stories that really cause decent people to be unsettled.

It's very tragic.

Sometimes, certain pieces of evidence are withheld so from the outside it might seem sudden that a person goes from being a non-suspect to being a suspect.

I always suspected Davis, I thinks his motive was to not pay child support. I hope if there is such a thing as ghost's that this man never gets a good night sleep! and he gets hunted in his dreams.

They can't give information about the case because it could hurt them. They probably found something on her body that directly and undeniably connected him to her murder. They wouldn't have arrested him so fast afterwards if they didn't have good evidence.
