Ethics is to toast, what pork is to Muslims. Or what non-kosher food is to Jews.

Having pork can be wrong -- depending on one's religion or belief system. tsk tsk tsk

Money is necessary for market exchange, so of course it's good.
However it can be used for wrong, but the same happens with religion, politics, science, philosophy, technology and almost anything. And that's not a reason to say that all those things are bad, they just are what they are. Nothing that exists, can be all good or all bad, but somewhere in between.

I wouldn't say that having money is wrong or right. The greed/love of money is wrong. One can not serve two masters. Money by itself is just a token that functions for the medium of exchange, but the love for it different.

Money is a tool. The questions is ridiculous. It might as well be:

Having buttered toast is "right".
Having buttered toast is "wrong".
Having buttered toast is "morally neutral".

The possession of money or for that matter toast is irrelevant. The actions taken with he toast are what count.

Having money is "the act of being in possession of money."

Neither bad, nor good, nor neutral. It all depends on the person that has the money; what they do with it.

Neutral is impossible and if it is not wrong then it is of right. It is fun, therefor it must be wrong, but that is only if you are one of those morally superior people.

I believe it was either David Gilmour or Roger Waters that said, "Money, it's a crime." I agree with that statement.
