for example, if you rob a bank all the cops woudl have to do would be to get on google earth and watch the video from the time of the robbery.

if you shoot someone all the police would have to do is pulll up the location of the shooting and watch for someone to be shot.

etc.

This is a SERIOUS SERIOUS thing. A crazier example that I can think of would be down the line when the technology was so good that they could monitor the speed of every car on the road and determine its speed. ...if you speed ANYWHERE, they catch you. etc.

What do you think about this. The technology WILL become available.

I don't think Google Earth will ever become live. That would be an extreme invasion of people's privacy. Besides, the government wouldn't need it, it has its own satellites for surveillance.

If Google WAS to somehow get this technology, rest assured, I would be the first person to sue them for infringing on my right for protection from unreasonable searches and seizures.

How about if the robber specifies the details of the robbery and his life as a millionaire thereafter to a BCI(body-chip interface) company and chooses to live this dream in his head as if it were reality for all eternity with a chip embedded in his brain?

there will be easy solutions to these things(like google earth)...if it becomes unreasonable the service will be discontinued AND maybe even the infrastructure will be destroyed...

the real problems come with even greater technology such as artificial intelligence, nanoscience, anti-matter bombs (lol) etc... i really dont think there will be viable solutions for these problems...any accident can easily destroy humanity or even the planet...i wont be surprised.

We are unimaginably lucky to be born human...we eat cows and wear crocodile leather...since all species ultimately have similar ancestors, animals squealing in pain will only work on PETA members...no animal or human is innocent...tactics like writhing in pain will not make a robot feel compassion for you...im not saying that robots dont have emotions...im just saying the emotional circuitry of a human and a crow for example is WAY more similar than a human and a robot(even if the robot is more intelligent than us)...being stared at can instinctively be a threat to a crow but not to a robot...such tactics(like crying in pain) wont help when humans do it to robots...it doesnt increase our chances of survival...we WILL die unless our survival somehow helps the robots...WE own this planet now and we fancy ourselves with childish notions of morality...it simply wont help us later.

So technology will interfere in your ability to be a criminal. I don't think this is such a bad thing.

Stop speeding. it's against the law.

You could also advocate to change the law and by virtue of your action, no longer be a criminal. The autobahn can exist without speed limits, perhaps, you might want to advocate for the same thing.

I am watching you. Now, if the satellite could also laser you as you commit crime, we would have a great detection, deterrent and punishment tool for the future. 10,000 volts delivered from a space platform for criminal behaviour would sure have alot of people falling into line.

Woohoo for technology.
