because you don't feel lonely and you do feel loved.
this guy used to love me,(he dumped me) and i could tell by the hugs he gave to me. oh gosh, i miss him. aww im sad now..i almost started crying..

Awwwww, that's sooo cute! Kudos for loving your girlfriend xD I think hugging feels good because it's the closest you can get to that person physically. Its not like you hug everyone you see, so being able to hug that one special person makes it.. well, special. I like hugs too :D It makes me feel happy, like they love me as a friend or more. It's so nice x] hehe.

Because we innately need interaction with others and hugs are a familiar but not intimate sign of affection. They convey a variety of aspects of affection: from comforting a crying child to victory celebration of teammates after a competition....even couples or just old acquantances

in the middle of ur chest (ur heart) feels this bothered annoying feeling when u get hurt or sad so when someone hugs u it presses on that area and releases all the sadness thats y u hug super hard when u r down! :P

It is the arms that do the physical part, but it is the inner us that makes that hug so warm.

I m pretty sure it Has to do with your body energy field and how, when you embrace someone, your fields touch and this helps release endorphin which make you happy. Also humans are very touchy feely and it reminds us of good things, times and people.
