225 pizzas * 4.75 compared with 225 pizzas * 4.25 ?

225 * (4.75-4.25) = 225*0.50 = $112.50.

So Judith saves $112.50 for each batch of 225 pizzas.

I don't know why the supplied alternative answers are what they are - makes me think maybe the question is wrong?

Total cost of pizzas without discount = 4.75*number of pizzas
Total cost of pizzas with discount = 4.25*number of pizzas

Plug in 225 for the number of pizzas, then take the difference between the first expression and the second expression to find the discount.

The difference in price for the pizza will be:
4.75-4.50=.50
if you save .50 on each pizza, you get:
.50*225=112.50

so you have a savings of $112.50, or (e) none of the above.

Savings:
($4.75 - $4.25) * 225 or = $112.50
You got it right, then answer is (e).

she is saving $.50 each pizza so you multiply 0.50 and 225
and that would make 112.50 so the answer is (e)
